Soul Rep Theatre proudly celebrates its 30th Anniversary Season with a powerful lineup that honors our legacy and boldly shapes our future. This milestone season features two iconic works by August Wilson—King Hedley II and Gem of the Ocean—made possible through the generous support of The Parrish Charitable Foundation. We begin with King Hedley II, a raw and riveting portrait of one man’s fight for redemption in 1980s Pittsburgh, followed by Gem of the Ocean, Wilson’s poetic origin story led by the mystical Aunt Ester in 1904. The season continues with Madam Queen, a world premiere that tells the remarkable story of a trailblazing Black woman who defied the odds and changed the face of American politics. We conclude with the Ted Shine New Play Festival, showcasing Soul Rep classics and bold new works by emerging HBCU student playwrights. Join us for a landmark season rooted in legacy, uplifted by community, and inspired by the future.
